Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program

The Tasmanian Government recognises the importance of farmers and communities being more prepared for, and resilient to, the impacts of drought, as climate change leads to increased incidence of extreme events such as drought.

Over the past two years, communities, key stakeholders and government have been working together to prepare community led Regional Drought Resilience Plans. Three plans have been developed for the Southern, Northern and North West regions of Tasmania. Implementation will begin shortly and will include a grants program to help communities kick-start priority actions that support their region’s drought and climate resilience goals.
